pattern recognition

may wrote that she was highly annoyed at the number of times that apple products were mentioned by brand name in pattern recognition. but in part, that’s the point. everything is referred to by a brand name. there word prada must appear in the book 40 times as well, or buzz rickson- the obscure manufacturer of the lead character’s flight jacket. whether you like the oft mentioned of brand names or not, the book is simply amazing. it is not science fiction at all. it is tech intrigue at it’s best. a well woven, thought provoking story that takes place completely within the confines of today’s technology. go read it. as i was putting the jacket back on this book, i caught a glimpse of one of the review snippets that claims william gibson could craft sentences out of nothing. i have to rebut and say he’s no neal stephenson. and to make matters worse i caught one or two sentences in it that had no verb, implied or otherwise. i would get stuck on them. but i still loved the tale and would recommend it to anyone
