police state

there’s some biotech conference that started here on saturday. bus ervice was suspended around civic center over the weekend in case of protests. now that the weekend is and the conference is in full swing, traffic is closed for blocks and blocks around the moscone center to “protect” the attendees. in addition little parades of trucks packed full of local law enforcement, whether they be police, CHP, state troopers or whatever are driving through the city in a show of force. You know what, there’s not a goddamn protestor around, not even across the police lines. probably because all the people with a real political agenda are on the other side of the country protesting the G8 summit.

i blame the patriot act for giving government agencies too much freedom to declare an emergency situation without any fear of repercussion. when does that act run out anyway? christ, give me my city back already. oh and since i said “christ”, go see saved!. you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll grown. you’ll have a good time.
