what have we been doing the last 40 years?
meet the new US space program, same as the old US space program. NASA has put up information and concept drawings of their new launch vehicle and lunar lander. ummm hello? it looks exactly the same as apollo 11 and friendship 7 (burrito lockdown kicked ASS last week on the space flight part of the pub quiz). about the only thing that’s been improved is (1) the computer technology and (2) the return landing technology – it’ll use the same airbag technique as the mars rovers. other than that it looks like the same damn concepts shown in the early 60s for the first flight to the moon. whatever happened to the X1? where is the glorious high tech future?
